a human-centered approach to functional wellness
When something feels off in your body - whether it’s stress, fatigue, or ongoing health issues - it’s often a sign that something deeper is out of balance.
Most people try to manage or suppress symptoms. But symptoms are not the problem - they are the body’s way of communicating to us that something needs to change.
Functional Kinesiology works by identifying the patterns beneath those signals, so your body can return to a state of balance.
WHY FUNCTIONAL KINESIOLOGY?
Clients come to me when something isn’t shifting, despite trying different approaches.
This may look like:
Chronic fatigue or ongoing health issues
Hormonal imbalances or digestive concerns
Stress, anxiety, or emotional overwhelm
Recurring symptoms with no clear cause
Feeling stuck in patterns that don’t make sense
Rather than treating each symptom in isolation, we look at how your body, mind, and stress responses are interacting.
What Is Functional Kinesiology?
Functional Kinesiology is a holistic, body-based approach that uses muscle testing (biofeedback) to identify stress and imbalance in your system. It works on the principle that your body already knows what’s out of balance, and what it needs to restore itself.
Functional Kinesiology is based on techniques from Applied Kinesiology, Touch For Health, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and uses the latest in nutritional science and functional medicine, with research-led protocols to make lasting change to a client’s health.
At the core of this work is the unique and ground-breaking Triangle Of Hormonal Health: a model that breaks down the overlooked interplay between three sets of hormones: blood sugar hormones, stress hormones and sex hormones and, with all kinesiology we use the theory of muscle testing to hone in on where the priority resides.
Through muscle testing, we can:
identify where stress is being held (physical, emotional, or biochemical)
uncover underlying patterns contributing to symptoms
determine what your body needs to support healing
This approach combines both Western and Eastern perspectives, looking at the body as an interconnected system rather than separate parts.
A WHOLE BODY APPROACH TO HEALTH
In Functional Kinesiology, we look at key systems that influence overall health, including:
stress and adrenal function
blood sugar balance and nutrition
hormonal health
digestion and gut function
immune system support
emotional wellbeing
These systems don’t work in isolation. When one is out of balance, others are often affected.
By working across these areas, we’re able to address root causes rather than chasing symptoms.
HOW I WORK
My approach is both structured and intuitive.
I don’t follow a one-size-fits-all protocol. Instead, each session is guided by what your body prioritises according to the biofeedback received through muscle-testing.
Depending on what comes up, your session may include:
identification of stress patterns - structural, biochemical, emotional, energetic
acupressure points and energy balancing
emotional stress release and nervous system support
nutritional and lifestyle considerations, including supplement recommendations and food intolerance testing
techniques to support integration between sessions
A key part of this work is helping you understand what’s happening in your body - so you’re not just receiving treatment, but building awareness.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Please allow 90 minutes for your first session.
We start by discussing what’s been going on for you - your symptoms, history, and what you’d like to shift.
From there, you’ll lie fully clothed on a treatment table while I use gentle muscle testing to identify where stress is being held in your system.
Once we’ve identified the priority areas, we use a combination of techniques to restore balance and support your body’s natural ability to regulate.
Follow-up sessions are typically 60 minutes.
While some people find relief after one session, it may take 3-6 sessions, with some chronic health conditions requiring further support.

Additional Professional Development: Introduction to Emotional & Metaphysical Kinesiology
Certified Positive Discipline Trainer
My personal journey with kinesiology started in 2009, and over the last 17 years, I’ve overcome my own chronic conditions through holistic approaches working with my Kinesiologist in New Zealand.
Kinesiology has always fascinated me since the first time my practitioner pushed on my arm. It astounded me that we could get such accurate bio-feedback from the body - from what structural help the body needs, to what supplements are the most beneficial, whether there are heavy metals or viruses causing havoc on the body, to what emotions are being stored in the body and causing so much subconscious pain that eventually shows up as illness and disease.
As a practitioner, I love listening to the client and uncovering the story that their body is telling, bringing awareness to the emotions that are being held in the body, and then bringing release. Emotional support for clients is often the missing piece of the functional medicine model, so by providing this holistic approach we are able to see results more quickly and much more cheaply than expensive lab tests and protocols.
